There is no real story behind this one, because this is a sort of generality.
The interesting thing is how some insane people deny being insane and just try to defend their own actions. But actually, yeah, we tend to see yandere people as "evil" people, while they're more mentally broken or something. The evil thing is not really something they wanted from the start.
